One such drug addiction story involves a man named Keith who had be in and out of rehabilitation centers for many times. He was staying in a half-way house where he met a man who violated parole. The man was a cocaine user and had also been staying out past the curfew. The man was not let into the half-way house, so he slept in the bushes outside. Keith found the man outside and snuck him in. There could have been serious consequences for not just the man but for Keith’s actions as well. Keith, was afraid for the man and started to pray that the man would be spared and given another chance. The parole officer handling the man’s case heard the situation and took mercy on the man. He graduated high school and went to college on a full scholarship. His use of drug increased so much that he could no longer maintain his college life. He failed college and lost his scholarship and financial aid. Between college and age thirty, Joseph had been arrested for drugs over 15 times. The last time he was before the judge, he was given the chance to enter a long-term rehab center and transitional program located in New Mexico. He learned to restore his integrity and self-worth. He learned how to end the vicious cycle that ensnared him for so long. It took a long time but Joseph was able to finally learn why he increased his drugs during college and what aspects of his personality he needed to work on.

  1. My older brother took a long time to stop doing drugs and get clean but my other brother was able to quit pretty fast. Their personalities are very different.

  2. I wonder how to stay drug and alcohol free when things seem to go wrong a lot. Does it make sense instead to get a prescription for something like so many people do? I guess it does if it’s legal compared to something that can get you in trouble with the law for substance abuse.
