Drug and Alcohol Rehab Solutions for Addiction

Kelly Osbourne is 24 but has been through drug rehab three times. It started she said with vicodin that she took as a teen when her tonsils were taken out. She admits an addiction to painkillers but now feels she’s kicked the problem. It is interesting because she analyzed that when she took painkillers that people seemed to like her more and that her self-esteem was higher.

As a therapist, I have heard that from a number of clients who get hooked on benzos or other painkiller meds. A 22 year old client I saw last week was telling me that for him taking a painkiller got rid of this edgy, insecure feeling he had. It actually didn’t , but it did seem to cover it up and create a certain distance to the inner fears he has.

I wish Kelly the best and she feels at this time that this rehab stay has truly helped her. Kelly seems focused on her career and despite previous time at drug rehab centres in 2004 and 2005 , she doesn’t think she really had cleaned herself up. It takes internal work too so hopefully there were some powerful insights gained at her last rehab facility that will transform her life.
