Natural Foods that Stop Addiction Cravings

Eating certain foods can increase the craving for alcohol so let’s see what foods can be eaten that will help decrease this problem. Balancing your blood sugar and not being on excessive amounts of carbohydrates help your inner balance. Some even say that alcohol drinking is a sugar problem itself, though others dispute that. Refine sugars need to be avoided but this doesn’t mean you can’t eat fun foods that are still sweet.

Why create obstacles for yourself and add a physical craving to make things worse?

Here’s some foods that can be helpful:

Dates can be quite satisfying for the body’s craving for sugar. Other foods people find helpful are bananas, celery (to stabilize the ph levels), tomoato juice with lemon, carrot juice (nice sweetness and you can also mix it with celery too). Cabbage juice has glutamine and this has a nice effect on the mind jibber jabbering and causing stress.

For insomnia, you can take tryptophane supplement from health food store or find it in foods such as turkey breast, cottage cheese and bananas.

Eat foods with magnesium because they help the nerves. When your nerves are on edge, it’s easier to succumb to stressors and to give in to anxiety. When that happens intoxication via alcohol or drugs is an easy step to jump to. Don’t set up the conditions that can cause this. Some foods that contain magnesium are green leafy veggies. IF you have them with a nice dressing they actually taste good. Your body knows it’s doing something good for it and thanks you!

Take a b-complex pill as that is good for nerves too. Try to substitute whole grains for the usual white rice, white flour breads and the foods that are depleted of nutrious nutrients. By helping your body feel good this can stop cravings, stop the sense of being off-balance, reduce tremors and feelings of anxiety and create an inner state where you just feel good. I know you can do it! And if you have junk food, just start over next day. Don’t get down on yourself.
