It got him to see that he's been depressed since he was 12 and has a dual diagnosis. Drawing was also therapeutic for him. I think combined with counseling it can be a way someone can help themselves. Some poems though are really depressing by addicts and shows a sense of horrible hopelessness of stopping adiction habits.
