Vicoden drug addiction is a growing concern today and unfortunately many people unknowingly get hooked on it. Initially, it may have been taken as a pain relief medication because vicoden as a commonly prescribed analgesic. How does this then turn into a drug addiction? At a certain point there is as much a reliance on the high or euphoria from the vicoden as the benefits of the relief from pain. People taking it don’t think of themselves as drug addicted since many never took illegal drugs or been involved with substance abuse in the past.
Detox is often required to deal with a vicoden drug addiction due to withdrawal symptoms. Counseling, alternative prescription medications and support groups are needed. Depending on the severity of the problem rehab may be the best program of choice.
If you are living with someone that you suspect is involved in vicoden abuse, look at the amount they are taking in relation to the prescription instructions by the doctor. How else is the person coping with stress in their life and are they running out of the prescription way ahead of schedule? Speak with their doctor about the situation.
